Engagement model
How StartOn Relay Software Consulting structures backend programming engagements, advisory sessions, and acceptance criteria for teams in Thailand.
Scoped backend work, not open-ended staff aug
We sell programming consulting through scoped project engagements and advisory sessions. A typical project names repositories, environments, milestones, and acceptance checks — for example, shipping a versioned REST surface, completing a PostgreSQL migration, or hardening a worker queue. Advisory sessions are booked in blocks with written summaries afterward.
Commercial terms and rate cards are confirmed per statement of work. This page describes how we operate so you can decide fit before requesting a proposal.
What we need from you
- Access to architecture diagrams or README context (redacted secrets are fine)
- A product owner who can answer scope questions within two business days
- Staging environments or fixtures that mirror production coupling
What you receive
- Merge-ready changes when implementation is in scope
- Decision logs for trade-offs (latency vs. consistency, sync vs. async)
- Test notes covering happy paths and the failure modes we touched
When we decline
We pass on engagements that require guaranteed revenue outcomes, 24/7 unmanaged on-call without staff, or work that conflicts with applicable law. We also avoid projects where no technical stakeholder can review merges.
